A salaam aleikum wa rachmatullah wa barakatuh, 
Today I’d like to share something very personal. I’d like to tell you about my personality “disorder“. Approximately five years ago I got diagnosed with personality disorder not otherwise specified. This literally means that I show symptoms of several personality disorders.

This diagnose came as a great relief, I could finally give the problems I’ve been struggling with since my early teens, a name. I never felt ashamed of it because it’s part of who I am. But since I live in Egypt it has been harder to deal with. Here no one knows what a personality disorder is, mental health problems are something to feel ashamed about, something you should hide. Some people will even say that a low Imaan (believe/faith) or Djinn will be the cause of your problems.

Battle of the Boobies


Asalaamu aleikum wa rachmatullah wa barakatuh,

Up to 10% of women develope postnatal depression (PND) in the first few weeks after birth. It’s not to be taken lightly, untreated it can have serious consequences.

It can happen to anyone, I myself was lucky but there was a moment that I was balancing on a very thin line. As the title suggests, I was struggling with breastfeeding. The first weeks were fine, my parents and sister were with me. But when they left it quickly went down hill.
