My sister introduced me to post crossing, and shortly after I started penpalling. Unfortunately when I moved to Egypt I had to give up this hobby. But my sister had the wonderful idea to write digital letters to me on her blog. This will be my answer to her third letter.

Dear sister,

In your last letter you asked me about traffic in Egypt and about bicycles. In Holland practically everyone has a bicycle, we use them to get to work, the supermarket, for sport and also just for fun. Here in Egypt it is rarely to see someone on a bicycle. It’s just for kids and sometimes poor men use them to get around. It isn’t even safe to ride them here, because there are no separate paths for them. People ride them next to the road sometimes even on the road.

My sister TammyTTalks and I love to write and receive letters, but when I moved to Egypt I had to give up this hobby. Now we decided to continue our writing through our blogs. This is the reply to her second letter to me.

My sweet sister,

You wrote your letter in January when it was snowing in Holland. I wish I was there, you know I love snow. Unfortunately the past ten years we didn’t have much snow in Holland. And now I live in Egypt, here it rarely snows, it can be cold though.  Continue reading “Letters to Holland #2”

Letters to Holland #1

Asalaamu aleikum wa rachmatullah wa barakatuh,

My sister (TammyTTalks) and I love to send and receive letters, but when I moved to Egypt I had to give up this hobby because the unreliable Egyptian postal service. Before I started this blog, my sister had the wonderful idea to write digital letters to me on her blog. Now that I have a blog as well I can finally send a reply! I’ll start by answering her first letter to Egypt, you can read it here. (you’ll find the English translation when you scroll down.)

Dear sister,

Time does fly, it’s been more then a year since I moved to Egypt. The last time we actually saw each other was in September 2015, when I came back to Holland to finally graduate.
